Resume / CV Builder Mind Map Template

What to put on a resume map
Branch into roles, outcomes, skills and gaps. Under outcomes, write results with a number attached wherever one honestly exists — a percentage, a count, a time saved. Under gaps, plan how the resume will answer the obvious concern (a career break, a missing tool, a step sideways) rather than hoping nobody notices.
Keep a "cut" branch for the lines you are removing. Resume editing is mostly deletion, and keeping removed lines in view stops you re-adding the same filler on the next pass.
Where resume maps go wrong
Duties instead of results. "Responsible for reporting" describes a job description; "cut month-end reporting from 4 days to 1" describes a person. The other failure is a map that is really the resume itself — if you are writing full bullet points here, you are editing too early.
Editing on the canvas
Every node is editable: double-click to rename, Tab and Enter to build structure, drag branches to reorder, and one click applies a theme. Changes autosave to your browser. If you want the full walkthrough first, read how to make a mind map, or open the mind map maker and start from a blank canvas.
Exporting and sharing
Export as PNG, PDF or SVG — watermark-free, no account. Exporting as JSON instead keeps the full structure, so you can re-import and carry on later.

FAQ
How do I plan a resume with a mind map?
Put your name in the center. Under Summary write your career objective; under Experience list each role with the results you are most proud of; under Skills split hard skills from soft; under Education add degrees and certifications. Export the map and use it as your writing outline.
Why plan a CV as a mind map first?
Maps force you to pick the strongest items instead of dumping everything. Seeing Experience, Skills, and Education side by side reveals gaps — missing keywords, weak sections — before a recruiter does.
Can I export the resume map to print?
Yes. Export as PDF for a paper copy or SVG for crisp rendering, then use the outline to build your final formatted resume in Word, Google Docs, or Canva.
