Terms of Service

Last updated: September 26, 2026

These terms govern your use of Mind Map Online (“the Service”, “we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Who operates the Service: Mind Map Online is operated by Duy Nguyen, an individual based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. There is no company behind it — it is an independent, self-funded project. You can reach the operator any time via the contact page or at support@mindmaponline.online.

1. What the Service is

Mind Map Online is a free, browser-based mind map maker. It runs entirely on your device: there is no account, and your maps are stored in your browser rather than on our servers. Features may be added, changed or removed over time, and the Service may be paused or discontinued.

2. Licence to use the Service

We grant you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for both personal and commercial purposes. That includes using the Service at work, in client projects, in paid courses, and in monetised YouTube videos. No attribution is required, and there is no watermark or export limit.

The one restriction concerns the Service itself: you may not copy, resell, sublicense or repackage Mind Map Online, its templates, its exports or its code as a competing product, and you may not remove or obscure attribution owed to third-party components (see section 6).

3. Your content

You retain all rights to the mind maps you create. Because maps are stored locally in your browser, we never receive a copy and claim no rights over them. You are responsible for exporting or backing up anything important, and for making sure the content you create and publish does not break the law — for example by infringing copyright, defaming someone, or making false medical claims.

4. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the Service for unlawful, defamatory or infringing material.
  • Do not upload or embed content you do not have the right to use.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service for malicious purposes.
  • Do not present Mind Map Online as your own product.
  • Do not scrape or bulk-download the Service in a way that degrades it for other visitors.

5. Intellectual property

The Service itself — its name, branding, design, templates, documentation and source code — remains our property or the property of our licensors. These terms give you a licence to use the Service; they do not transfer ownership of it. Nothing in these terms grants you the right to use our name or logo except to refer factually to the Service.

6. Third-party components

The drawing surface is powered by Excalidraw, an open-source library released under the MIT licence. Fonts are served by Google Fonts, and hosting and content delivery are provided by Cloudflare. Mind Map Online is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to excalidraw.com or Google. Other bundled libraries are used under their own open-source licences.

7. Advertising

The Service is free to use and is funded by advertising. Where advertising is shown, it is delivered by third-party vendors. How cookies and advertising data are handled is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

8. No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any exported file will suit your needs. Because everything runs in your browser, we cannot recover deleted maps or lost exports — keep your own backups.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost work, lost revenue, or claims relating to content you created and published. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us to use the Service, which for a free service is zero.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or from your use of the Service is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Nothing here removes any right you have under the mandatory consumer-protection law of your own country of residence, and where such a law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own country, that right is unaffected.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. The “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. Material changes will be described on this page rather than made silently.
