What to put on a business map
Branch into the five questions a plan has to answer: who pays, for what, why you, what it costs to deliver, and what could kill it. Under "why you" write the honest version — a real constraint you have (a network, a licence, a skill) beats an adjective. Under "what could kill it" write the two failure modes you would not enjoy explaining to an investor.
Keep money in units you can check: price times customers, not "revenue growth". A branch with a number you can re-derive next quarter is worth more than a branch with a feeling.
Where business maps go wrong
Marketing-speak. If a branch could appear unchanged on a competitor’s board, it says nothing. The second failure is a missing cost branch — plans that list revenue and forget delivery cost are the ones that surprise their owners in month three.
Editing on the canvas
Every node is editable: double-click to rename, Tab and Enter to build structure, drag branches to reorder, and one click applies a theme. Changes autosave to your browser. If you want the full walkthrough first, read how to make a mind map, or open the mind map maker and start from a blank canvas.
Exporting and sharing
Export as PNG, PDF or SVG — watermark-free, no account. Exporting as JSON instead keeps the full structure, so you can re-import and carry on later.

FAQ
What should a business plan mind map contain?
Start with the business idea in the center, then branch into market (customers, competitors), strategy (offer, positioning, channels), and finances (costs, pricing, revenue). Fill each branch with the specific details of your business.
Is a mind map enough for a business plan?
A map is a great first pass — it forces you to cover market, strategy, and money in one view and shows where your thinking has gaps. Use it as the outline for the full written plan.
Can I edit the template after opening it?
Yes. Every node is editable: rename branches, add new nodes, change colors, and rearrange the layout. Your changes autosave to your browser instantly.
